Thoughts on the troubling trend Consoles are making. (Edited)

So I've been watching...well reading rather the next Xbox console and I have to say, I'm unimpressed. It seems that Microsoft is out to shove this new way of making consoles down our throats and expecting us to swallow.

If you don't know, the latest news on the Xbox One, or Xbone depending which side of the console wars you're on (that's a rant for another day...now that I think about it I've already spoken my thoughts on it.) Microsoft announced a week before E3, one of the biggest entertainment and gaming expo, that the Xbox one will have to connect to your internet once every 24 hours. If you have, and your internet goes down you're fine for the day. You can continue to play your games without fear. Though you will have to connect the next day to keep it going. While that's fine for people who have great internet, that rarely get's interrupted for less than a day, what about the people in rural area's who can't connect to Highspeed internet? Are they left out in the cold just because Microsoft want's your console to do check in's so that way daddy knows you're not doing anything unchristian with his little girl? Short answer yes, if things continue yes. You're SOL if you don't have the internet to connect to. You'll be able to play your Blu-Ray movies, and watch TV with it, but that's it. As  a GAMING CONSOLE, this is beyond stupid.

Now for the games. You can still buy discs dear reader, and after you've installed it to your HDD, you're able to play it without the disc and you get a copy of it automatically uploaded to the cloud so you can play your game library from any console you happen to sign on too. That is really to me very cool, though it raises the question. Why should you buy the disc? If it happens like that already, why shouldn't you just buy from their online store and go from there? It seems pointless to even consider buying the disc. Which brings me to another thing that's got me questioning the sanity of the Xbox One's creative team. Reselling the game. Right now, you can buy a game, if you happen to beat it, or don't like it, you can go to Gamestop, get online to Amazon, Craigslist, Ebay, and resell your games with no problems. After next gen that's all going to change according to Microsoft. No longer can you just sell your game anyway you please. Now you'll have to take it to "Select Retailers" and resell your game there, but only if the game publishers ALLOWS you too. That's right, you can't sell your game without the publisher saying "Yes peon you may sell your game." Oh but you can still give your games away, so long as the person you're planning on giving it too has been on your Xbox Live friends list for 30 days, and doesn't have any plans on giving it away again. That's right even more restrictions. What if the person you give the game to doesn't end up liking the game? They're stuck with it till the end of time.

Now, with all that said it seems to me that Microsoft wants nothing more to control every aspect of your gaming/entertainment. Soon they'll tell us where/when/how we game, if they ever get to that point I mean. I for one am on the fence with this next generation of consoles. While we've not heard much from Sony on what the PS4 will do, I can't help but feel they're going down the same road. With both companies shutting down Backwards Compatability, I think they're going to follow Microsoft down that road and consoles will suffer.

I don't know what's going to happen, or even if they do go through with all this, all I can say right now. With the current information, I'm seriously considering not buying any of the consoles. I've considered just start going full PC gaming. I'll have to save my decision till after E3, hopefully with all the outcry that's been happening in the gaming community, maybe Sony and Microsoft will wake up and realize this will do more harm than good.

Thanks for reading, and sticking around the site if you have. I'll TRY to keep updates and start my reviews again.

Vangle.

EDIT: I've been watching the blogs and various gaming channels on youtube, and I have since found out that the Microsoft has since changed their policies and removed a lot of the features that I had said in this blog post. Now I've seen a lots comments on youtube, posts in forums, and some are saying that this is because Microsoft listens to their "fans". Let's get something straight here. Microsoft does listen, but not to their "fans" they listen to the sound of the "fans" wallets. Since the "fans" didn't go out and preorder the new console, Microsoft panicked and changed the policies that people like myself didn't like. Just thought I'd put my two cents in.
